Federation Towers is a 114-unit senior housing community sponsored by the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. The $36.7M modernization was designed to extend the property’s useful life, improve resident comfort, and enhance energy performance, while maintaining full occupancy during construction.
Scope & Role:
As Head of Predevelopment, Clara led the comprehensive planning and design management for the renovation. Her responsibilities included coordinating the architect and engineering teams, overseeing permitting and consultant selection, and managing the full preconstruction process from concept to contract execution. The project scope encompassed full in-unit upgrades with new HVAC systems, energy-efficient windows, LED lighting, and modern appliances; cooling tower replacement; and major enhancements to community spaces including the library, fitness center, and common lounge areas.
Impact:
The modernization revitalized a critical affordable housing asset for seniors in Miami Beach, improving accessibility, sustainability, and resident well-being. The project exemplifies Clara’s ability to align public funding, design intent, and construction execution to deliver high-quality, mission-driven renovations at scale.
